Literature

The beauty of literature is that you can get to truly know someone from the sprawling notes of marginalia.

My friends and I traded our favorite books with each other last year to stay in touch at different universities. We get those books back tonight.

I’m excited to read them finally. I Lll be able to see what parts they hated, loved, and ate through. Bleeding pen marks. Grease stains. Dog-eared pages. A year in someone else’s bookcase.
